Thank u for your reply. Does the version on the dude snmp.profile has to be the same as the trap version on the second figure? And what about the contact info and location are the obligatory??
I have generally have the dude set to SNMP version 2c because I have that set to the default in my copy of The Dude. My reason for using 2c is that I monitor a lot of equipment that only work with 2c. The routers can be queried with either v1 or v2c and probably v3 but I have not tried that.
It doesn't matter what you set the location and contact to, its just a text field for human purposes not for snmp authentication.
Make sure that you have a matching community string. If your still having issues then try torching the router when you attempt the snmp connection and see if you see the requests from The Dude.
