I just checked the changelogs for v4 and 5 and it looks like this was introduced/changed in December last year.

Or am I missing something?

Is it true for PPoE/PPtP? I know it works only for wireless...

COA messages are not supported by PPPoE at MikroTik RouterOS.
Only DM messages are supported for PPPoE.

We have no plans to make COA in near future.

Why not if you have it on hotspot??? I think that is not a very difficult job and a very usefull ressource for us.

I need of CoA on PPPoE too!

I need of CoA on PPPoE too! This is the right solution to manage PPPoE users than SSH.

Hi Everyone.

For the most part the DM/PoD works just as well in reality. In our scenario most/all customers use CPE/desktops that are configured to redial automatically. So, you send the PoD/DM message. User disconnects. When they reconnect they get new package details via Radius.

YES - I agree it would be nicer to have CoA is current user sessions won't have to drop - but it works fine as a workaround at this stage.

Normis, you can +1 me - I would like the CoA but agreed that we can work around it for the most part.

Could someone please describe exactly how such a feature is used?
What are you trying to achieve or replace with built-in feature?

On connect ppp daemon can apply radius authorization extension values (e.g. bandwith limits) to users. Change-of-Authorization messages are sent by radius to ppp daemon (I'd like to see it for l2tp too) without the ppp daemon asking. Using CoA RADIUS can tell PPP daemon to apply new authorization extension values without disconnecting the user as needed. With the current situation ISP have to disconnect its customers to lift bandwidth limits.

in 6.33rc7 (2015-Sep-11 17:13):

*) ppp - added CoA support to PPPoE, PPTP & L2TP (Mikrotik-Recv-Limit, Mikrotik-Xmit-Limit,
Mikrotik-Rate-Limit, Ascend-Data-Rate, Ascend-XMit-Rate, Session-Timeout);

*) pptp - improved encryption;
*) ppp - added new option under "ppp aaa" - "use-circuit-id-in-nas-port-id";
*) userman - added 'history clear' to allow flushing undo history, which may
take up significant amount of memory for huge databases whith hundreds of users;
*) CAPsMAN - fix 100% CPU usage when trying to upgrade RouterOS on CAP;
*) ethernet - added support for new ASIX USB Ethernet dongles;
*) ppp - fixed ppp interface stuck in not running state;
*) ipsec - fixed kernel failure when packets were not ordered on first call;
*) upnp - randomize action urls to fix "filet-o-firewall" vulnerability;
*) RB532/RB564 - fixed no link after ethernet disable/enable;
*) tile - fixed occasional deadlock on module unload;
*) ipsec - fix sockaddres buffer size on id generation for ipv6 address;
*) userman - refresh active sessions/users view dynamically;
*) package - added version tag and show everywhere alongside of version number;
*) wlan - improve single connection TCP performance for ac chipset with cm2 package;
*) mesh - fix router lock-up when interface is added/removed.

MT very thanks for this.
