EoIP not passing all traffice

Fri Aug 30, 2013 12:12 am

Can't figure this one out on my own, so, I'm hoping someone here can help out.

What I'm trying to do, is to setup an EoIP link between my home RB750, and another RB750 (both running 6.1) at my office. Both have their own private subnets (for home/office device connectivity), and are currently connected via a l2tp link. I want to setup a VirtualAP at my office, where when I connect to it, it sends/receives all it's traffic from my home RB750.

The reason for this, is that there are some apps that I'd like to run from work from my laptop and iPad, that will only work if they are on the same network/subnet as the device at my house.

I can get everything working, to where a device at my office gets an IP from my home router, it can ping the home router, and everything seems good until I try to open a browser, apps, etc. on the device. It just falls on it's face.

I have been successful in the past at doing pretty much this exact same thing, just in reverse; VirtualAP at home, bridged with the EoIP link that on the office router, the EoIP link is bridged with an ethernet port to a separate LAN segment. I did this so I could be directly on the network with our servers from my house when I do updates. Worked great.

On my home router, I add the EoIP interface to the "bridge-local" bridge. On my router at work, I create a bridge called "home-work", and add the VirtualAP and EoIP interface to the "home-work" bridge. Everything looks great, looks like it's going to work. DNS is reversing domain names from the DNS off my home router, and I can even ping google.com and random other public IPs. But, like I said, when I try to open a browser or an app that needs internet access, it just falls on it's face.

Any ideas?

Can you post a copy of the config for both sides? Are you using proxy-arp, if not that might help depending on how you have it is setup.
