Ethernet custom bandwidth restructions by port

Sun Sep 15, 2013 5:03 am

I'm new to the MikroTik routers and have been trying to learn them as fast as I can. I am having a little trouble configuring it to work for one of my desired deployment scenarios.

Device is RB2011-UAS

The scenario is as follows:

Trunk on the SFP for vlan 10 and 20
Complete bandwidth restriction table I need is: 1.5M,2M,5M,10M,50M,100M,150M,200M Synchronous.
Ports 1-10 need bandwidth restrictions. Each one might be a different amount of restrictions.
Routing is not desired.

Right now I am only testing on ports 1 and 2.
Port 1 is configured for vlan 10
Port 2 is configured for vlan 20

I want to regulate port 1 to 50M
I want to regulate port 2 to 100M

I can get the bridge configurations completed and I can complete PINGS and BW testing across the trunk and the ports to verify routing is not occurring and that there is ample bandwidth available.
My problem is limiting bandwidth in and out of the ports.
I notice that the interfaces permit bandwidth regulation up to 10M. That's great, but how do I do 50M,100M,150M,200M restrictions?

Edit:
Shortly after posting this I realized that the Bandwidth on the interface configuration page did not require the speed/measurement identifier such as "K" or "M". What threw me off was that even in CLI the CSH showed the syntax use of speed/measurement identifiers.

For others who also are new and have this issue - NOTE: interface bandwidth speeds are measured in K by default so 50M would be entered as 50000

So still a MikroTik newb, but shortly after I submitted this post I figured out the issue.

under /interface configuration i was witnessing in both the GUI and the CLI that the bandwidth setting options listed were including the speed identifier after the value.

Example: 20M

The speed apparently quantitatively entered in K without the identifier afterward.

Example: 20000

Thanks for looking.

Just put in the desired speed manualy. Or do it with a simple queu. :D
