Hi,

Via terminal -

[admin@XXXXX] > /system license print
software-id: C123-1ABC
upgradable-to: v7.x
nlevel: 3
features:
[admin@XXXXX] >

Or else run Winbox, then click System and then License.

The above means that this unit (Sextant running V5.24 at this point in time) can go up to version 7.

Rgds,
Mark.

I saw the same thing, so is there a handy set of directions to upgrade this beast?? I d/l ed version 6.7 from the web site and ended up with a file named "routeros-mipsbe-6.7.npk". How do I get it to upload to the routerboard? I feel like I am missing a step or two. Thanks!!

I thought the directions were very clear... drag the package contents into the "FILE" area and the upgrade should begin. As luck has it this didn't work for me. The package contents are still just sitting there in the FILE area and the Sextant has not budged. I was very careful not to pull the package into the "skins" directory and I still see the "skins" directory under the upgrade package files. Anyone else had this happen??

Once you've copied the package to the files, you need to reboot the router to actually upgrade.

EMS If you followed the directions on the link that ULDS gave and the SEXTANT did not upgrade, then you did some thing wrong.

Since you have v5.14, you do not have the quickset screen. Use must use the terminal to do this.

What I do for upgrading is, make a folder on desktop for Mikrotik, go to the website download the updates to that folder.

Go into terminal and open files and drag the updates to that folder.

Follow the directions from the wiki and do not forget to do a reboot.

This should do the update with no problem.
