Setting firewall to run PPTP

Sun Oct 10, 2004 1:53 am

Hi,

can anyone tell me how I can setup firewall rules to accept PPTP connection from ,,outside,, world.
I have firewall and PPTP server in the same router.
(Firewall is between DSL (PPPoE client) and LAN).

Thanks for ideas

/Tomi

That should be IP protocol 47 (GRE) and TCP (!!) port 1723 (!!) for the PPTP control connection.

Well, nobody's perfect, right? Happens to me several times each day, too ;)

By the way - do regulations in Hungary really suggest a maximum EIRP of 2,5 mW??? What a joke (and a bad one...)!

Yes it was a try by goverment and local telco (owned by DT) to reduce the outdoor power to use that freq only for door openner and things like that. Wlan is a very fast growning part of the Hungarian isp system, and many big company try to destruct ourr bussiness. "Sad but ttrue"
Now we can use 100mW eirp fr ISP purpose. Any other way (mean a company pp connect) restricted to 2,5mW.
