DHCP Issues. Anyone?

Thu Mar 13, 2014 10:53 pm

What I have is a 150+ apartment complex with a RB2011 running a hotspot. The system will run top-notch for 2-3 hours then stop handing out DHCP addresses. I have tweaked the config as much as I know how and even upgraded to V 6.10. The attached photo is what I was witnessing earlier in the log file.

After Googling this I read to set the hotspot's server DHCP pool to "none" and I did that. Then, I checked to make sure there was a DHCP server set-up and there was. It is associated with the same interface as my hotspot.

Any ideas or input?

Thanks in advance!

Please show an export of the IP>DHCP Server. The problem you might be having is the duration of the lease on your dhcp server. Until we see the configuration it is difficult to help. :(

There are reports in the 6.10 Thread (one from me) that dhcp does not work with vlans.
There is a bug. Consider downgrading.

My DHCP server lease time is set for 6 hours. I've read in the Wiki to make sure your DHCP server IP isn't in the scope of the DHCP pool you have set. I have my server sitting on the bridge-local interface as well as my hotspot server. Could this be posing a conflict? I'm new with MT so please bear with me when asking to run terminal commands.

Thanks in advance.
