RB751U-2HnD

Wed Mar 12, 2014 1:50 pm

Hello to all ,

i have bought a Mikrotik router , when i plug-in , all was working fine . Eth1 was for Wan and the other interface was for Lan . The problem is when i try to set up hotspot in the eth2/eth3/eth4 , it is not working is still not getting the hot spot when i plug in the ethernet cable on each of this interface , and it is working like nothing have been set up .

The second problem i get is :

i have disabled the default configuration and re-set my own configuration basing on the tutorial i saw on mikrotik page but i got some issues

1 - first i have added dhcp Client on Eth1 where i have connected the wan cable of the Dsl modem

2 - Secondly i have setup the mikrotik hotspot on the wan interface , and it is working very will , i got the login page when i tried to connect on the Rb751 ( but other interface was not working )

3 - Thirdly i have reset the configuration again and i have started to setup the same configuration as step one and step two but this time i tried to setup mikrotik hotspot on the eth2 / eth3 / eth4 , but not hotspot page , not internet , nothing

i'm really confused and start to think this router could not do hotspot on those interface

ps : i tried all , adding pool for each interface before setting hotspot on one interface but nothing is working . What is surprising is when i reset the router with the original configuration , all port is working with internet .

Reset the routerboard without default config.

On ether 1: make a dhcp-client for connection with ISP

Make a bridge en put ports 2 to 5 into it.
Give a IP-address to the bridge and configure an DHCP-server
http://www.wirelessinfo.be/index.php/mi ... pages/dhcp

By firewall NAT nat and masquerade the brige with ISP.

Configure the hotspot
http://www.wirelessinfo.be/index.php/mi ... es/hotspot
In dutch but follow the printscreens

Have you ethernet 2 to 5 put in bridge?

And have you as hotsot interface select the bridge?

i don't think it's possible , i wonder of this rb751u 2nhd .

My project i have a Nano M2 who is connected in WDS with many other Nano Station ;

Nano Station was connected directly to a Port of my Tp-Link MR3220 . VLan and plage Ip range was working well ( included bandwidth share ) . I got the Dsl that is connected in wan port of my TP-Link

SInce i took this rb751u , all now is confused , no way to separate Ip , No way to activate Mikrotik Hotspot in a wanted Port , No way to put the queu on a interface , no way to assign a Ip on a unique MAC

I'm very disappointed of Mikrotik

Mikrotik is the max, but you must learn use it.
Don't give up.
It's not easy to use them the first time.
Let us do different

Reset the routerboard with default settings.
Ether1 = to your modem.

Ether 2-5 = Lan 192.168.88.1/24
Give nanostation IP-address 192.168.88.2 subnet= 255.255.255.0 standaard gateway = 192.168.88.1

IF you now log in via nanostation check that you are on the internet can.

IF that works mean that we are a step forward.

Let me know

Take the wifi radio wlan1 out the bridge
You must connect the nanostation with ether2 and log in.
Mail me

take it out of the Bridge means create a new bridge and assign a wlan interface on it ?

the Nanostation was already connected to the Interface2 (Eth2/Eth2-lan1) .

i have left the configuration By Default

i put the Dhcp on Nano and i till now i see all the wds station connected to the Nano on the lan

i have tried to setup the hotspot on wlan interface but it's not working , i don't really know what is happening

..

i Find this config on google , with this config Hotspot is working on Wlan but not on other interface

I have you send a config file.
I main that you must delete the wlan into bridge ports.

A configuration file can't blow up your routerboard.
Have you reset the routerboard and deleted default configuration?
I help you further with mail conversiation.

look what i have done ; i started the config the hotspot on this base

http://netwanlan.com/2012/04/04/configu ... -mikrotik/

same example , and it is working fine . After i have use your exple on this page to configure the internet on Eth2,3,4,5

http://www.wirelessinfo.be/index.php/mikrotik/pages/ap

i have not include wlan on bridge-lan while doing it and the two interface group ( wlan ; eth ) get different ip address range )

Now Hotspot is working on WLAN and INTERNET IS WORKING ON LAN PORT
