[SOLVED] Cloud Router Switch CRS125 Unable to ping hosts on

Wed May 07, 2014 5:52 pm

Hi all,

I have a Cloud Switch Router CSR125. ether1 is connected to a cable modem with a static IP. I can connect to the router (using ssh, or winbox) from the Internet to the IP on ether1.

ether2 is the master port for ether3-ether24.

I am unable to ping from winbox to any device connected to ether2-ether24.

Devices connected to ether2-ether24 are unable to ping each other.

I am trying to replace a RB2011 and the config I placed on the CSR125 is the same one that was used on the RB2011.

I have a second CSR125 connected to a DSL modem with a pppoe interface on ether1. That CSR is working perfectly.

I have been unable to find any differences between the devices other than the local IP/subnets are different.

Both CSR run RouterOS 6.12.

Can someone help me find the problem with communication between switch ports?

Thank you,
James

[SOLVED] Cloud Router Switch CRS125 Unable to ping hosts on

So this was my own fault. The client devices are Windows 7 and when it detects the default gateway device has changed it switches to Public network mode. This blocks pings by default. Once the network mode was changed to Home or Work everything is working.

Sorry for the noise.

Thank you,
James
