Netwatch has made system shutdown

Fri May 09, 2014 9:55 am

Dear All,

We this is a mistake on my part and i am not able to get rid of it.

While enabling netwatch feature, by mistake i added scipt:

" :system shutdown "

in the "on Down" instance

and have specified the IP in the main screen. The port was not up and the system went down. Now whenever I am powering on the router it boots and again goes down,

is there a way to come out of this. We are using ROS 6.1 on an X.86 machine with 2 NIC

No I am not aware hot to reset on X.86

also I am using L-6 license and there are lot of Backup and configuration files on disk which I cant afford to lose.

Is there a way I can use Serial port to change any configurations before Booting?

Please suggest

Sorry, but the only solution are to use netinstall or boot from CD to fresh install the system.
(Yes, netinstall work also on x86 if you set correctly the BIOS)

You can made one Ubuntu USB boot or CD boot, to boot the pc and save all the "file" folders content.
After netinstal or cd install you can restore the backup on the machine.

DO NOT ALTER THE DISK IN ANY WAY, OR YOU LOSE THE LICENCE.

Well I tried a way out on a 450G model.

A flashfig got me the configurations removed and the files were safe.

It did worked. So if somebody can just help me to know if it will work with X86 (PC) or not?

Thanks

Flashfig is supported only on routerboard BIOS,
the motherboard BIOS do not have flashfig.
