CCR-1036-12G-4S and 1000T SFPs

Tue May 13, 2014 12:08 am

I am having a hard time finding working 1000T SFPs for the CCR-1036. The Cisco SFPs we have been using with the RB2011 UAS-RMs are not working (no link with a MikroTik 750GL on the other end).

Are there any known 1000T SFP issues with the CCR?

Cisco SFP info: SFP-GE-T EXT / 30-1421-01

I took six different 1000T SFPs, we had lying around, from different vendors and only one worked: FCMJ-8521-3-MD (looks like a Finisar clone, here is a link: http://memorydealers.com/transceiver/sf ... tible.html)

Thoughts?

Did you try hard coding speed and duplex on the 750 interface?

I have a CCR1009, and im using 1000BaseT adapters in both the SFP+ and SFP port. Works great!

The type I use is a Fiberworks GLC-T. And its essentially uoriginal SFP, thats programmet to work with Cisco switches. (on Ciscos 3750 switches it shows up as a original Cisco SFP).

You can also try our SFP modules, check the Interfaces section here: http://routerboard.com

@normis

Any chance you will start selling the Mikrotik RJ-45 Copper SFP Adapters.

The flexibility of accessing a CCR1036 which is full on copper but has an SFP Free

Or using the copper port that came with my CCR1016-12S-1S+ and then still coming in locally to manage it

Or that same box wanting to connect a second copper customer rather than buy another whole box we can just make another copper port.

So many things that would help us out.

Technically, because RouterOS does not validate the chipset of the SFP's, any SFP should work albeit some better than others.

Are you using a 4 pair Ethernet cable or 2 pair? Just thought Id ask, its always possible. 2 pair definetly wont work with a copper SFP.
