Mikrotik POE - big problem, why you dont make similar like U

Sun Jun 01, 2014 8:55 am

I am very unsatisfied with mikrotik poe shipped with sxt devices. When you have e.g. just notebook and this is connected to it and changing more times it causes destroying of the ends. And also there is problem that manipulation is very bad(very short).
Also I have problems with some notebooks, ethernet connection is loosing and changing to ubnt poe solves the issues.
Why you dont make poe similar to UBNT poe? is it licensed?
Because your POE sucks...

I've never played with sxt jet ..is the same used for omnitik ? If so, I've experienced some troubles with it and I've changed with the simple/common one

We do have a couple of 100 ubnt spares so we use the ubnt power supply's,
in 10 years i never had a broken ubnt power supply, ans they stay stable even if you overload them.

i also had some problems with the MT 24V 0.38A power supply's and some poe cables.
Inside this psu i did found some crushed cappaitors.

The PoE provided with SXT / Sextant / OmniTik / Metal / Groove are perfect for my use.

All my client have inside the house one AP, not use directly the poe on one laptop.

It's perfect plug the poe in the rear of AP (and is more perfect if you put directly the CPE on ether 10 of 2001i or ethe5 of 951i board...)

According to me, POE adapters by mikrotik also added to anything not suitable

This is a much better solution:

I like all ways of PoE adapters/injectors, but none of them is universal, so it's better if you have spare ones.
PoE shipped with sxt devices is tiny one and doesn't make mess at customers desk.
For tower equipment box where is more MT devices it's better to use RouterBoard 260GSP or RouterBoard 750UP with more powerfull DC power supply (2,5A 24V)

Actually it would be beautiful, if MT introduce Active PoE 802.3af/at. I'm installing IP cameras and often use 802.3af switches, but I must add another Power supply for MT. Of course, there is converter available , but I hate converter-converter-converters at all.
