Is it possible to use S-31DLC20D which is SFP on CCR1036-8G-2S+EM (that we already have) SFP+ cage?

Our Optic provider would have only 1G equipment (or they say so). Are devices like "S+31DLC10D" also able to work with that low speed? The main question is is it safe to buy S+31DLC10D also for 1G?
