Hi there, I have two questions:
1. I'm currently using a Mikrotik router for my network and I want to use the router as the DNS Server.
I've inserted a static entry and try to ping it, but it can't resolve the name.
So I tried, nslookup. With nslookup I get an answer but it says Non-Authoritative Response.

2. In my local network most of the names are resolved via Netbios name service. The problem is when connecting via the pptp server in the router when outside the network, the names cannot be resolved.

What can I do?

For work correctly you must use dotted name...

like server.local

if you use only "server" name, the name are processed by NetBIOS on the system instead of DNS...

When you use nslookup you FORCE the system to use nameserver instead of netbios...
