Strange behavior

Fri May 09, 2014 10:45 am

Hi all.

I have a brand new RB2011 with the latest 6.12 with a strange quirk.

To re-create it:
Do a factory reset on the router.
Access the router via WinBox or Webfig.
View IP Addresses and see that 192.168.88.1 is assigned to interface Bridge-Local.

Now open QuickSet in either Winbox or Webfig.
Change nothing, just hit apply.

View IP Addresses again and see that 192.168.88.1 assigned interface has changed to ether2.
It will also change the associated route dynamically completely breaking the LAN if
ether2 is no longer part of the bridge.

This causes me issues as I want to use the QuickSet to configure a static IP on Eth1
and I want to use ether2 for my back up WAN.

Since I will be removing ether2 from the bridge, this means extra steps around to get
the LAN working properly again.

Can anyone else reproduce this issue?

Is this intentional?

As a side note, I also noticed that QuickSet changes the name of the DHCP Pool from "default-dhcp" to "dhcp".
This is not a huge issue, but still quirky.

Thanks in advance.
LL

Thanks,

Update.

I'm Running 6.17 now.

The interface is still being changed by Quickset to Ether2.
I use a few different ip addresses on my bridge and it seems
to only change the most recently added.

I'm tempted to use a dummy ip address but this could issues
since I use Ether2 as a Wan port.

The last added ip is also the one that Quickset shows
as the local network IP.

The dhcp pool renaming bug appears to be fixed.
