RouterOS as DNS Server?

hi
I'm new to mikrotik and just got my MTCNA , MTCWE and MTCUME
and my MTCTCE course is going to start next week! :)

i was playing with my rb2011-UiAS-2HnD-In and i noticed something , there is no DNS Server Option in Router OS????? :shock: (I'm using RouterOS 6.17)
i dont mean DNS cache!

You can add static records that will be replied to the clients instead of cache or externally obtained records. What more you need?

As mentioned - RouterOS will relay DNS and serve static entries (as well as hold a local cache).

It is for routing, so basic functionality is best - bogging the software down with loading zones or doing lookups from root servers onwards only serves to introduce more complexity and/or bugs.

yup thanks i've just noticed the little static button in DNS Window! LOL :lol:
