Hi friends, please suggest a good low cost WIP system for our local WISP setup. I found SXT LITE 2 is good for client side. Also please suggest good antenna for WISP end. We are expecting around 20 customers at the beginning. So we need low end system for starting our business. SXT LITE 2 is good for WISP antenna ? What is the average coverage area for the antenna. Also please let me know expected coverage for the antenna.
2 Mbps max.How much speed do you want to provide to the customers ?
Which type of antenna for this device ? It just a router board. What is the expected price ?You can use Metal-2SHPn as AP and SXT Lite2 as WISP client. I think the coverage with both devices will be around 3km. If clear LOS 5-6 km.
You can use the 6dBi omni antenna which comes with the board. Or, can find third party omni antenna (TP-LINK, ALFA, Hyperlink, etc.)2 Mbps max.How much speed do you want to provide to the customers ?

How is the performance for Omni direction antenna come with the board ? How much users can handle Metal-2SHPn at a time. Any other low cost alternative for SXT LITE 2.You can use the 6dBi omni antenna which comes with the board. Or, can find third party omni antenna (TP-LINK, ALFA, Hyperlink, etc.)
It's a WISP AP with ROS. Its price is $99.
2-5 Mbps Max. About 25 Simultaneous users1. What is the bandwidth available to offer to your clients?
each has a portion (Authorised by PPPoE)How much, and how (all share all, or each has a portion) is the bandwidth assigned to your clients?
expected 2 KM maxWhat are the distances from AP to clients.
As a beginner, I think Omnidirectional is good and cheap. In wat spread 'seen' from the AP are the clients? (360 degrees around > Omni antenna, otherwise sector antenna(s))
50-100 per annumWhat are the prospects in growth of your network? Its a shame if you start cheap to find yourself in a situation you have to start upgrading your setup soon...
As you know, enabling Nstream will hide the network from normail Wi-Fi devices.6. Really think about the frequency usage. If your network will be 2,4Ghz but you also place wifi routers at your clients, you are prone of destroying your own network. Better use 5Ghz for the network and 2,4Ghz for indoor private wifi.
But it wouldnt remove frequency interference...As you know, enabling Nstream will hide the network from normail Wi-Fi devices.
Exactly! Interference happens at the physical level of the radio waves. So no matter what protocol or modulation etc. you put on the wave, if its in the same radio band. That's why a babyphone, microwave, or any other device working in the 2,4Ghz band can, and will, molest your radio links.....But it wouldnt remove frequency interference...As you know, enabling Nstream will hide the network from normail Wi-Fi devices.
What is the expected price for Omnitik ?Best "low cost" solution is Omnitik and SXT-Lite5
2,4Ghz band is usually more congestioned.
With an Omnitik, you can go up to 60-70 customers with your requeriments.
