Feature request: BGP4-MIB (RFC 4273)

Thu Oct 16, 2014 9:22 pm

Hi

Please consider supporting BGP4-MIB for RouterOS 7.x.
It would be a really really useful addition to the current SNMP support.

http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4273

Thanks

Will be available, when RouterOS comes out :)

And to clarify, only cbgpPeer2Table (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.187.1.2.5) will be added

Hi

Can you give us an estimated date? This year? Next year? In 5 Years?
Many of us needs to plan future networks and it would be great to know when things "will work" (BGP MIB, IPv6 Recursive Gateway lookup, BGP Multicore, ...)

Thanks and regards
Patrick

We have been waiting for this for a long time. Hopefully BGP will also be multi threaded. :D

Hi Team,

Just wondering if there has been any traction? 2015 is well past and looking to implement monitoring for BGP on the MikroTiks we have. Many thanks in advance!

Hi team,
it is real painfull to see that no improvement on BGP monitor so many years. I felt so many times blind on dark room, troubleshooting BGP issues. I believe that I m not the only guy here.

Still no feedback on when BGP4-MIB will be released? :(

i can monitor everything on our network with observium except BGP which is critical.

+1 for this feature!
we really need this feature asap. if you can implement it in ros 6 it will be very very very good .
because we have lot bgp session that we need to monitor them and for this reason we use 2 different monitoring!

# snmpbulkwalk ix-rtr2 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.187.1.2.5
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.187.1.2.5 = No Such Object available on this agent at this OID
Sad face.

So we're still forced to use the API. I was able to get check_bgp_mikrotik.pl plus MikroTik.pm to work, although a small patch to the latter is needed.

i remembered they have told me it will be release in ros v7 ... i really love mikrotik but feature request is not too much important :D most of time their team think what things are important for them and then develop them...
right now we have about 104 peers and for monitor them we are doing them by perl script so its a bit funny :D you have router, you have monitoring software but for monitor bgp session you should write another script :D

Hey MT, any updates on BGP4 MIBs? This feature has been requested numerous times for over a decade now. Thanks

Do we know if it can be implemented in v6 or does it need a newer kernel?

starting to lose faith in humanity. We could put men on the moon in 1969 but we still can't create BGP4-MIB support in 2020 :?
