If the arresstor is bad why would it pass traffic at all, or tx great but rx sucks? Also the customers signals are great.
I am still gonna replacing them anyway.
This is what I have done so far. I posted this on another forum.
I replaced everything.
From server up to top of tower. This includes cat5e wires to each AP. I have 5 AP's on to the tower the 900 system is working fine. I am only having issue with the 2.4 gear. The only thing I haven't replaced on the 2.4 AP's are the LMR400 cables, Lighting protection, and antennas. It's not just one sector it's all 2.4 sectors.
We have looked over the sectors and we see no markings from lighting, same goes for the coax as well. We did find the location of the lighting strike and it came in at the base of the old 900 gear omni. The lighting protector for it was not chrome looking anymore it was a pretty golden color. It has all been removed and replaced also.
From the MT forums they think the lighting protectors are the cause, but how would it would it send fine and not receive much at all?
Everything ran great before the strike. The only thing I haven't replaced are the antenna sector's, lighting protector's on coax and the coax.
When I removed the blown radios from the tower. The SR2 cards looked ok, but when I placed in a spare board they would lock up the board. On the boards the only burned spot was at the ethernet port on the MT532 board.
Things that got replaced:
Server PC NIC card RB44 from MT
24 port switch
All Cat5e wiring from server PC to top of tower
All Poe's
Added more in line surge protector's, 1 for each AP at the top of tower and 1 behind each POE. Coming into the server room added another surge protector as well before entering the Mikrotik main PC.
New MT532 boards with new SR2 cards, mounted in new outdoor boxes from Demarctech ( I like the room these boxes offer )
Mew mmcx to n female connector.
