Morning everyone,
I have been trying to setup a PPTP connection between my office and remote locations using Routerboard 1100Ah X2 and RB750UL with the remote sites using Verizon Pantech Modems UML290.
I also have a direct WAN connection to one site as well.
My problem is that I can establish a VPN tunnel between all the sites and VNC into each computer at the remote site from my pc at office but when I setup port forwarding at the office location to connect to the remote VNC machines remotely (from home)the attempt fails.
I can connect to office remotely through a VPN connection and then connect to each site then and that's how I've been using it.
Also, it should be noted that the direct wired WAN site behaves the same way.
What I want to do is this:
Setup all my remote sites for VPN over Wireless Verizon links and be able to VNC into each one remotely through my main office router using port forwarding.
What I did was set PPTP server on office router, add secrets for each site, add remote site ip address to address list, make routes for ip address, add port forwarding rule for each site.
Remote site make PPTP client, add address for office network, add route to point remote address to office network.
When I look at the traffic at the remote site I can see the vnc request come through but it looks like it never makes it back through the main router.
I'm thinking I may need to setup a bridge perhaps.
Honestly I just get these mikrotics wrapped around my brain and I'm stuck on this problem.
Also, the routing shows a dynamic connection and I don't think you can assign a port forwarding rule to a dynamic connection.
Help please
