Compex WLM54G

Tue Aug 15, 2006 7:12 pm

So, Compex WLM54g runs on AR2413a single chip. That chip belongs 5005g Atheros chip familly. According to http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.9/guide/driverlist that chip is not supported!!!??

Is it true?

This card shows up as a AR5212 and works fine. Wrap boards need the latest bios for the board to come up without rebooting the wrap board. I've been a little disappointed in the output power though. The 200mw cards seem to put out about 100mw or less in my testing. 4-7 dB difference between the WLM54(200mw version) and a Prism at the customer end after replacing it with a 2511. I am having low power power issues on a second small tower I set up with the WLM54 card as well.

Yeah i dont know why their site has these cards marked wrong either, unless mikrotik is detecting wrong ?

I have 3 of these cards and both show up as AR5212.

Mine have worked fine so far.

Yes, that is the problem and I want to discover does Compex lies about output power or it is result of unsuported chipset
