IP Unnumbered + DHCP (vs Ericsson Clips)

Fri Jan 23, 2015 11:09 pm

I'm talking over some ideas with some colleagues and we're looking at Ericsson CLIPS, and i just can't understand how only ericsson does the ptp ethernet connections sessions so well.

Shouldn't we be able to perform almost the exact same situation with DHCP and IP Unnumbered Loopback interfaces?

I've heard some other discuss it but no one seems to post how they did it.

Basically to take a Client VLAN(s) distribute DHCP over them, disable Dynamic ARP Learning, and Enable DHCP to add arp entrys.

DHCP issues a /32, DHCP adds the arp entrys for security. Clients can only talk to the router directly since their forced into a /32 ip address.

Somehow also wrap some queues around the dhcp and tada clips? Or so i would think, but i am having a really hard time wrapping my mind around how to actually accomplish it.
