Networking Help!!!

Sun Sep 03, 2006 8:38 pm

Hi guys, I Hope someone can help.

Setup is like this:

Adsl-=-Cisco Router-=-Clarkconnect gateway-=-Mikrotik.

Our ISP supplied us with 4 static ip's. One is used for the clarkconnect gateway, that is aslo our web, mail server.

Now i need one of our computers on the network, connected via pppoe to the mikrotik, to have an external ip, one of the spair ones from our isp.

How should i go about this? Any help would be great, aslo let me know if i must be more specfic with details.

Thanks

You'll need to ask the guys who made the Clarkconnect gateway really.

If MT sits behind it, there's no way you can get a IP there unless the gateway you use makes provision for it.

sorry for the late reply

If i connect i computer behind the clarkconnect gateway, and assign it with an ip supplied by my isp, that ip can be pinged via the internet. so i assume that the gateway is alowing passthough of those ips.

How do i setup my lan port to be "public" or dont i need to do that?

following another forum i have the following issue:

"/ip address add address=10.5.8.200/32 interface=Public "
i get "input does not match any value of interface"

????????????

Yes,

before you do excute command "/ip address add address=10.5.8.200/32 interface=Public ", you must check first what's name your own interface on router by '/interface print' than put ip to that interface name,
'public' just name on interface, you can rename it by yourself as you want.
