PPPoE Server over VLAN

Thu Apr 30, 2015 4:37 pm

Hi there,

I' have this scenario:

RB912 wlan1 - ether1 <-----> ether1 - ether2 RB450G

RB912:
wlan1: ap bridge for CPE
ether1: linked to ether1 of RB450G

RB450G
ether1: linked to ether1 of RB912
ether2: PPPoE Server

I want to link RB912 wlan1 to RB450G ether2 in order to permit to CPE on RB912 wlan1 to have PPPoE.
How do I have to set VLANs between two devices without create a bridge on RB912 (ether1+wlan1)?

You can't.

A bridge WILL be required at the very least on your RB912

With a bridge I will not access directly the ether1 via Winbox cause it will become part of the PPPoE bridge.

You can still use winbox via MAC, or avoid that bridge using EoIP between rb912-wlan1 & rb450-ether2

Thanks for your answer. But why I can not set up a VLAN in this scenario?
