PTMP results

Mon May 04, 2015 9:19 am

Hi
We currently use cambium epmp1000 devices in our network. We have more than 100+ clients connected to one AP working in 20 mhz channel width. The max throughput we archeved is 55/5 Mbit/s DL/UL per AP. The latency is about 40-50 ms and not so stable jitter.
We are planning to install Mikrotik AP and my question is the following: What is the best device to use as an Access point?
What is the max throughput of this AP with 80-120 clients being connected with high CINR? What about the latency?

RB 912, 30 stations=40-50ms and ~50mbps, 40Mhz. Protocol nv2. I had to install another sector and split stations 15+15. Anyway if you have so many clients I don't see why not to install more AP's with higher gain sectors.

We have not enough legal spectrum and I am afraid of self interference. GPS sync does not work in epmp properly. 30 stations it is highly few((

I am sure you should talk to cambium support to optimize your installation. You will not improve by throwing some MT in between. Putting 100 cpes to one ap you will run into problems with every gear I know.
