Well, that's a hard one. Currently (as far as I have been able to tell) it's only useful for measuring throughput and other stats of the interfaces. Navigation is quite confusing, I'll have to look up the wiki page on that. How useful do you find the LCD?
We will add PIN and basic configuration options in RouterOS v6if they would enable it to have a sort of pincode
I think exactly the same.... but I'll be darned that it bugs me the led's dont flash! Call me weird but when I see a piece of networking gear without blinking lights, it automatically makes me think something isn't working..
I believe a standard USB OTG cable should do the trick. There you can plug in your standard USB plug. Mikrotik chose for this standard probably because it's smaller, further then that I don't really know either, normal USB is fine. It has also become the default european standard for phones, but since it won't accept a charge from a standard charger, I don't see the use in using this plug either.I'm trying to figure out what kind of cable/adaptor I will need to connect a RB/2011 to an APC UPS so that I can monitor the UPS at the tower(s).
To connect to most of the APC cables (USB Type A plug to RJ-45) I would probably need a micro-USB B to USB Type A receptacle. I haven't been able to find such a cable in 30 minutes of googling.
So far, this RB looks like more trouble to use for USB UPS monitoring than the RB493Gs we have been using/soldering. I keep wondering if MikroTik means for the USB to be used as a console port.
This one is easily findable but I will awnser none the less. You even provided the link with the most info yourself? Read!
That depends on how you configure your device. If all five gigabit ports are in a single switch group then CPU will see the whole group as a single port and L2 switching between these ports will be done in HW.I've just wondered if i want to use The 5 Gigabit ports like a gigabit switch and would be CPU fully loaded from traffic between gigabit ports.
Sure, will do so when I can. Currently on vacation for a week or so. And then I need to find a powered hub. But from what I remember reading from other members and their experience with other routerboards, it should be no problem.Alright, that's clear. Could you test usb port with usb hub and two flash drives.
yes really I want to ask this one but dont get me wrong on RB2011x series why leds dont flash/blink?You know, the 2011 boards have quickly become my favorite router board and I am currently using them at all my towers (yay for more ports over a gl and metal case ftw) but I'll be darned that it bugs me the led's dont flash! Call me weird but when I see a piece of networking gear without blinking lights, it automatically makes me think something isn't working..

yes, 802.11n capable devices will work at N speeds while g mode users will work at their usual speed. That is true for all RouterOS wireless APs.In terms of wireless performance, if the router would be configured to run both G/N, is it possible for various devices to connect at different rates?
For instance: 2 laptops only have wireless g, 3 other laptops have wireless N capabilities. Can all of these run at their respective speeds? G laptops at G speed, N laptops at N speed simultaneously?
This is a limiting factor on some other access points I've seen... that if one device is G, everyone else is limited to G, etc...
Thanks!
Thank you, Janisk! I've been using RouterOS for a while now (450Gs), but first time with wireless.yes, 802.11n capable devices will work at N speeds while g mode users will work at their usual speed. Earlier I conducted a small test before putting an RB211L-IN to work, see here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 65#p326665 - I admit it's somewhat vague, but should present a general picture of what to expect. It's performing better than my RB450G, anyway.Could any of you please provide the NAT and Switching performance via iPerf?
I tried iPerf on my RB433GL and RB493G. The RB433GL has very poor performance on everything. No wonder it's low cost model.
RB493G is alright, but not great! I only only get 2XX Kbps on NAT and 4XX Kbps on switch chip.
I don't expect the switching of RB2011 being better. But I do expect the NAT performing better.
It would be great if you could provide some stats. Thank you very much.

Using smaller blocks might lower performance, but I've seen this on many switches, not just the mikrotik one. So switching is switching and wirespeed as far as I can see.D:\temp>iperf -c 10.10.128.254 -w 64KB

Well, it has 2 distinct switches, one 5-port Gbit and one 5-port fast ethernet. Switching within one switch or the other is wirespeed. Passing packets from one to the other involves the cpu (see Normis' post above on the internal structure) and thus subject to forwarding/routing speed of the CPU (see the product homepage for numbers). For managing several APs or as a gateway device for a small office (among others) it's perfect and gives pretty good performance. It all depends on what you're going to use it for. It's very nice as a router or AP. But it does not perform well as switch or NAT.
On the other hand, Asus RT-N66U has much better performance as gigabit switch or NAT.
http://bit.ly/UEMNXNI would like to buy one. Anyone have stock here in the US?
Khm ... just got mine and it has 128MB internal memory.... about 90MB free (for now ) .... having some issues with gigabit ports for now ... they don't seem to like gigabit speed but work fine with 100mbit ... will test further next week when I have more time.
One question I remember being asked is how big the internal flash storage is. Sadly it's only 64MB. It comes half full with about 30MB left of free space. Of course you can expand it using the USB port.
Cool that yours is bigger. No, this is a serial connection port. You can use any cisco style RJ45 - Serial connector to directly connect to the router and manage it from CLI.Is this next to the power cable an ethernet port or only the ports on the front are present?
I will try and create a ticket tomorrow.could you report what kind of problems you are getting with gigabit ports?
It does not work at gigabit speeds... it does not negotiate at gigabit but at 100mbit, if I try to force it to gigabit it does not work. Comp has intel gigabit card (Intel 82566MM) which works ok at gigabit speeds with Dell, Cisco, also mikrotik RB450G and RB493G but not with RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN.could you report what kind of problems you are getting with gigabit ports?
I experience the same problem. At first the ports were bridged together without utilizing the switch chip, so I configured them using the following command:
It does not work at gigabit speeds... it does not negotiate at gigabit but at 100mbit, if I try to force it to gigabit it does not work. Comp has intel gigabit card (Intel 82566MM) which works ok at gigabit speeds with Dell, Cisco, also mikrotik RB450G and RB493G but not with RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN.

/interface ethernet set etherX master-port=etherY
How we can set up new pincode? Or activate it?It does have PIN code ability, and can configure IP addresses and other settings. It can do that already!if they would enable it to have a sort of pincode
What RouterOS version are you using? Is the gigabit link unstable or never established at all? Currently, none of the RB2011 series RouterBoards support USB power reset feature.Hello! Does rb2011 (this one or all in the series) support usb power-reset?
So my stuff arrived yesterday and it seems to be working really well! I have 2x RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN, one for my home automation and one for testing purposes.
If anyone has any questions about it, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
One question I remember being asked is how big the internal flash storage is. Sadly it's only 64MB. It comes half full with about 30MB left of free space. Of course you can expand it using the USB port.
I made a picasa album with some (phone) photo's I've taken. If anyone wants some close up pictures of some part I can make them. The album can be found here.
Well, let's get this topic rolling!
USB power reset for RB2011 RouterBoards with USB port will be implemented in RouterOS v5.22 and next v6 release.Currently, none of the RB2011 series RouterBoards support USB power reset feature.Hello! Does rb2011 (this one or all in the series) support usb power-reset?
128MB of internal Flash memory ?? - its correct ?(do you can send screenshot system/resources pls)My router came with 128MB of RAM and 128MB of internal Flash memory. All 3 routers had some bad blocks even on first boot (0.2%), but there are enough free memory to test a simple metarouter.
@ mr. Normis
What happens with [Ticket#2012102466000568] from 24.10.2012
thanks for answer Normis, but its not normal situationIt must have 64MB NAND. If for some reason we run out of 64MB chips, we could use bigger ones. Treat this as a surprise gift.
i don't know, i receive LESS or MORE, because size of flash memory not described on official page (where i can see official public document where it described for this model ???)- and now i can say what i receive LESS, if we have fact what some people have RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN with 128MB flash memory!Neohunter - you are not receiving LESS, you are receiving MORE. If you always assume it will be 64, what problems can 128 cause you?
This does not apply to 2011 series only. I can say that from my own experienceIt must have 64MB NAND. If for some reason we run out of 64MB chips, we could use bigger ones. Treat this as a surprise gift.
You can't use external storage for MetaROUTER...For things that require more storage, you can use external drives (USB. microSD).
in termianal look at /lcd options, specifically:Is there a way to calibrate this, or must I return it to my supplier for replacement?
/lcd reset-calibration
and why (don't specify NAND size) ??? i don't understand !This is why we don't specify NAND size - we ship devices with enough NAND for RouterOS. For things that require more storage, you can use external drives (USB. microSD).
I really do not understand your problem. He has already told you that the device will come with 64MB. If they run out of chips, instead of delaying production, they use 128MB chips and make this space available to you, free of cost.and why (don't specify NAND size) ??? i don't understand !This is why we don't specify NAND size - we ship devices with enough NAND for RouterOS. For things that require more storage, you can use external drives (USB. microSD).
for each device must be technical specification where must be described all parameters
NAND size one of this parameters why its not specify on technical specification ?! its not normal
I as buyer must know what i buy before but not after, also its not normal situation when one people pay the same price as other but thy give 2 times more on the same model device!!!
Mikrotik as minimum must be describe this parameter in technical specification !!!
and (ONLY AFTER FIX technical specification)if they install more its may be look as gift, but now i can say and i say - you install on my device less memory because
on technical specification its parameters not described and i see what many other people buy this device with 2 times more NAND FLASH memory !!!
also now i LEGALLY have right to request a replace my device on the same but with 128 MB because i have fact what people buy this model with 128MB FLASH.
I'm await your response.
Without looking at forums you don't know "what was initially intended". Getting this device with only 64MB and reading that some people got 128MB for same price might hurt a bit especially if you plan to use metarouter which can use only internal memory. So I think that specification should statesomething like "at least 64MB of NAND".the end result is just the same, you a getting a bit more then what was initially intended
So tell me, what will this change? If it's random chip as it appears here you can't choose. It would be better to have diffrent model numbers and you could choose to pay 5$ more for being certain that you get 128MB version. I got lucky and I am very happy with this, but there are other...state that you have interest in buying 128MB or even 512MB units to make that interest clear.
And the other question is this 108 Mpbs an effective value, so if you copy a file, the speed gets around 10-12 MBytes/sec?Wireless performance is much better compared to RB750*. Link quality and stability is great unlike previously mentioned device.
Peak (continuous) wireless performance was ~108Mbps on ~5m distance during CIFS file transfer, HTTP is a bit better. I didn't tested UDP because most of my traffic is TCP (CIFS/HTTP). Performance on 10 meters + 2 walls was about 60Mbps. Test is done by a simple notebook with Atheros wireless card.
I have tested the switch (normal usage over a few months long) and it seems fine to me. No stability or speed issues. I can easily run iperf going at a full gigabit a second for say 30 minutes without a problem. The same with copying 120GB from one port to the other using CIFS.Hi,
My question is about this board that do somebody tested the switches utilizing the maximum bandwidth? Do the new Atheros chips solve the issue present on the older models (mine is RB450G) equipped with Atheros 8316 switch IC? (Switch hangs when you send huge amount of data through the switch with gigabit speed).

Sounds promising but I hope the switch issue won't come up later because not all of the Atheros 8316s are affected, just "a few" of them.I have tested the switch (normal usage over a few months long) and it seems fine to me. No stability or speed issues. I can easily run iperf going at a full gigabit a second for say 30 minutes without a problem. The same with copying 120GB from one port to the other using CIFS.
Further on the wireless performance. The dual chain aspect seems to be working well. I have seen speeds up to 8MB/sec or 9MB/sec easily. Even with a wall between the unit and laptop, etc. It performs at least as well as my Linksys 610N I had before this, much better when further away because of the better antenna.
its not my problem its mikrotik problem(this device only just example - this problem for all mikrotik device)and why (don't specify NAND size) ??? i don't understand !This is why we don't specify NAND size - we ship devices with enough NAND for RouterOS. I've never heard of such a law. If my TV has less ram than another TV of the same model and both work, didn't I still get what I paid for? Linksys and other vendors has frequently changed the flash quantity in models of thier routers without notice and they do not publish the specification for it.BTW - there is a law of consumer protection, which requires the seller to provide all the information about selling they product/service.
change and describe basic amount - you can not see difference in this terms ?BTW - there is a law of consumer protection, which requires the seller to provide all the information about selling they product/service.you never heard about law of consumer protection ???I've never heard of such a law.If my TV has less ram than another TV of the same model and both work, didn't I still get what I paid for?

Normis, your answer about it on support forum, only answer on forum, why this information not describe in technical documentation ??? why mikrotik hide this information from buyer ?!All RouterBOARD products ship with 64MB NAND as minimum. NAND can be shipped bigger in some situations.
Please drop this issue already or raise it directly with Mikrotik themselves. This is getting you nowhere and quite honestly is frustrating me and probably a lot of users. its secret - no! but why not describe it in product doc ? Аnd then, no one not have any questions about it. if it more, ok - its gift.

yes official Mikrotik answer on first question, but may be you not have seen what on second question they not answerThis is the last time I will reply to you in this topic before asking Mikrotik to ban you from THIS topic.
*I* am the one who started this topic because I was one of the first people in the world to get a hold of the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN. It's meant to be informative and for people to ask questions regarding this hardware.
Your question is related, sure. But.... your question has been answered twice by Mikrotik officials
But i do not agree with your statement(when you respond to the questions posed by official representatives Mikrotik, not to you and when you're trying to intimidate me)Now I do not agree with your statement
yes its one of other questionLet Mikrotik to be focused on cleaning bugs in ROS
we plan to make some features like that in v6Is there going to be a way (or is there already) to start a slide show, display interface, etc automatically after reboot so one doesn't have to start it manually?

To clarify how to ports are connected, here is a block diagram. We will include it in the manual too:
Don't meant to stir stuff, but I think Neohunter's point is that he wasn't told what he will get. And he feels cheated when someone got double the flash memory. Maybe cultural / language differences prevent him from articulating it well.I've never heard of such a law. If my TV has less ram than another TV of the same model and both work, didn't I still get what I paid for? Frankly this brings to my mind Matthew 20:1-15.
When you buy something, and there is a lottery going on "every tenth person will get a free gift", is that also worth complaining about? that not all people get the gift?
Like I said, ALL RouterBOARDs ship with minimum 64MB NAND. You should always expect that, unless specified otherwise (like in the case of CCR).
Hi Normis and JaniskDid anyone test RB2011 with APC UPS through USB or RJ45 serial? Does RB2011 USB port power out DC voltage?
I noticed that when I reset my new device it went into CPE mode. To talk to a router that is in CPE mode you need to manually configure an IP address on your computer's ethernet port (such as 192.168.88.2/24) and then connect a cable between your computer and the ETH1 port on the router. Only the ETH1 port will respond in CPE mode.Hi, I just got a new device, trying to configure, but I am unable to connect to 192.168.88.1?
Tried different PC's, tried direct connect, tried via switch, no go.
Any advice?

It sounds like your thinkpad radio may reduce the power and higher speeds. It does not seeme like a Mikrotik issue.Thank you for your response,
After a bit playing around with some wifi clients the strange thing to me is
that the signal strengh is only different for my thinkpad x121 (uses b/g/n).
If i connect with my Archos MP3 player the singnal strengh ist almost identical (+ - 3dBm).

Using iperf of file copies I can easily reach the full Gigabit, even full-duplex. So I don't know what's going on, but this is most likely a configuration issue. Do you see CPU usage rise when you are copying or using jperf/iperf? If so, your switch group is not working. Switching costs 0% CPU.Whats the throughput you guys are getting on the Gig ports? I tested with jperf and the max was 225Mbps between two hosts connected to the same switch group. Is this normal?
Again, once more to thank you Quindor.Using iperf of file copies I can easily reach the full Gigabit,
Hey Dobby. The only thing to be able to reach full wirespeed gigabit transfers is to put the ports in a switched mode. This can be archieved by selecting one of the ports as "Master" port and making the other ports a "slave" port to that port. And that's it, the are switched.Again, once more to thank you Quindor.Using iperf of file copies I can easily reach the full Gigabit,
Perhaps you will led fullerms to reach this goal also, by showing him up a small solution in more details!?
Fullerms does your MikroTik RB2011 support vlan´s? Can this also be a point you should watch out?

So for instance
Port 1: Internet connection
Port 2: LAN Uplink
Port 3: Server
Port 4: Server
Port 5: Server
Go into the configuration of port 3, 4 and 5 and select that port 2 is the "Master port". That's it. You will then have created a switch between port 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Further, I believe the LAN ports of the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN to support VLAN's. I have the following setup.
RB2011 Port 2 : LAN Uplink
With VLAN 0, 10, 20 and 30
Then through some other dumb switches, I have an OmniTik connected and on the port that is connected to the switch I also have VLAN 10, 20 and 30. On the OmniTik I have 3 SSID's using VirtualAP's and each of these have been bridged to one of the VLAN's. Works beautyfully. My RB2011 provides DHCP, DNS, routing, etc. and de OmniTik is a pure basestation with multiple SSID's. The traffic over the LAN is seperated, DHCP also works in the seperate VLAN's, etc.
So according to me, it works. Maybe some more advanced function like tagging and untagging or other such things does not, but I don't know about that.
Have you configured uPNP correctly (system -> upnp)? The problem started with VOIP and Video calls from my iphone, while playing around with it I disabled the all the services, then I started seeing the video on both sides but the voice still one way. I am using Growndwire as well as bria softwares , they both have the same problem.
No question is so stupidity!Guys, sorry for the stupid question, but is there any way to rack mount this particular model?
Did you ever thought about the option, to buy the RB2011UAS-RM or the RB2011L-RM model of this router andBecause what I see from the product line, you either have to go with the rack mount model without wifi (and that doesn't have any way to connect a wifi module) or this one with with wifi, but only wall mountable.
Yes, Of course.hello guys,
Are these Ethernet ports on router is layer3? Is it possible to assign each of them a different IP address, subnets?
regards!

I don`t know very detail. Maybe someone will answer here.Hi otgooneo,
regarding 1/
I've thought that when general purpose CPU is involved so kernel is used for handling this traffic.
Do you know how is done and how is it possible that CPU can do fast path without kernel?
Or what am I missing?
depend purpose/goal as said/stated above.Actually, I believe his question is pretty clear?start question again.
explain what exactly you want to succeed
I checked on my RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN and mind you that I am using different antenna's (Using an Aruba kit with dual polarity omni's). I see some difference, but not so much as you are seeying. Allthough the values fluctuate for me too depending on where I am and how I'm holding my device.
So, I don't know if you have much to worry about, a little fluctuation is too expected I believe, but interested in hearing other people their exprience.
yes really I want to ask this one but dont get me wrong on RB2011x series why leds dont flash/blink?You know, the 2011 boards have quickly become my favorite router board and I am currently using them at all my towers (yay for more ports over a gl and metal case ftw) but I'll be darned that it bugs me the led's dont flash! Call me weird but when I see a piece of networking gear without blinking lights, it automatically makes me think something isn't working..

I just bought one router:) Why led dont flash with network activity on interface? If I need some setup on router, or....?
Just to ask a question on the pictures u hv posted on PICASAWEB. The photo 13 of 19, can i know what type of connecters where use to connect to the MMCX connectors on the motherboard?I made a picasa album with some (phone) photo's I've taken. If anyone wants some close up pictures of some part I can make them. The album can be found here.

I have won the jackpot! Just received this device with 128MB flash. It must have 64MB NAND. If for some reason we run out of 64MB chips, we could use bigger ones. Treat this as a surprise gift.

I finally made mine work. I used the original APC serial cable -> null modem adapter -> DB9 to RJ45 Cisco console cable (actually I used a DB9 to RJ45 adapter I wired up and then an Ethernet cable). Works like a charm!Hy,
I'm trying to connect apc ups to this routerborad on serial RJ45 port, but without success. Does anyone of you have cable schema for this connection? Is it possible to connect the UPS to this RJ45 serial port? I've tried a lot of schemes that I found on the internet, but none of them do not work.
Best regards to everyone!
we will consider this idea for at least some ports. Is there posibility make RB2011UP with POE out on all ports?
In the future can we expect this board? Or it does not support the layout?
Thanks
If you make POE out only on 100Mbit port --> it is 5port POE out. = unnecesary. We have rb750UPwe will consider this idea for at least some ports.
Hi, thnx for help. Can you post finall schema for this cabal, pls? Of course, if it is possible that the cable is made up of one part DB9M <-> RJ45I finally made mine work. cisco cables do not work with mine you have to know that cisco's console cable isnt a null modem its a roll over cable and depending on the serial intereface you probably will have mixed result ( a phisical uart will probably work but a usb to serial may not work for instance ( that was my guess from what i tried since i had to make my own cable because my cisco one didn't)No, this is a serial connection port. You can use any cisco style RJ45 - Serial connector to directly connect to the router and manage it from CLI.Is this next to the power cable an ethernet port or only the ports on the front are present?

About coverage for floors and rooms, it very depends on building materials. I know here some buildings strongly block 2.4GHz waves. What is the wifi coverage range? Is it suitable for 800 sq ft apartment? Also, can it cover 2 floors?
I haven't tried one of the new style in the wall mount kit but I could believe it doesn't fit. I haven't used those wall mounts in a long time. I have just been mounting the router directly to the wall. If you have a plasma cutter you could easily and quickly modify that mount.Hello, i've recently bought a RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN with the wall mount. Unfortunately the wall mounts screw holes (that hold the router on its both sides) is a bit off and the mount blocks the power connector (the router has a regular power connector, not the inside the case version) and it can not plug in. Has anyone faced this problem or is there a different (version of) wall mount?
Thanks, Adam
It doesn't ring a bell for me. I have several in active use, sometimes as pure router, sometimes with WiFi but the pattern of them degrading and stopping is not normal in my opinion.> After power outage WIFI in RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN gradually
> degrades till the range is less than half. Printers will no-longer
> connect to the wifi and Note 3 smart phones in particular quit
> working. Eventually the router will no longer route. I've had two of
> them do this so far. One in my office and one at a major clients.
A surged protected out is used. Has anybody else had this problem,?
Thanks, a friend of mine, who has a Pro Audio company, did the machining of the parts. The chasis looks really nice. Congratulations to it.
The RB2011 will be mounted in front of the motherboard, see picture below.Where the RB2011 will be mounted? It is not clear for me from the pictures you have provided.
I'm planning to switch to longer antennas (with pigtails) which come in the front panel of the PC, so the antennas come above the 19" rack were the PC will be mounted in.You can power the RB2011 directly from PC power supply 12V branch (yellow-black). It will not have any influence on the performance. Just the antenas should be outside the metal box if you would like to use its wifi functionalities.
The newer version of the RB2011 board has an extra 2-pole connector, see picture (red square). What sockets are you talking about? You can use whatever 12V connector leading outside from your PSU. Just make some reduction to the power in connector of RB2011 if you do not want to solder the wires directly.
You're right, maybe it's better to use a separate PSU for the RB2011 to have power all the time. There is maybe disadvantage: There will be no power for RB2011 when the PC mainboard will be off because it drives the power supply, so it will be off too...
How many vehicles can be carried on a ferry without tipping over? It depends. How many active users does this hardware (Rb2011) handle simuntaneously without any Hic-ups or system crashes?
Does the xbox survive the partner device only advertising 1G full duplex with other vendors' equipment? Does the notebook? If so, you may want to create a support ticket with MikroTik. If not, you are blaming the wrong device.first i've setup an basic setup for notebook and xbox(360/ONE) in the web utility.
wireless connections are all stable and good, however on the 1Gbit port of the Routerboard it totally collapse the connection when i want to advertise only on 1Gbit full duplex. (the 1Gbit port is literally going offline on the RouterBoard)
If it works in the default configuration, why would you want to neuter the devices' ability to maintain some sort of connectivity in the event of an ethernet cable deteriorating because someone ran over it with their chair a few hundred times? What problem are you solving by changing the defaults?notebook is a Qualcomm Atheros AR8172/8176/8178 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)
and already replaced the cables RJ-45 CAT-5e / CAT 6
when turning advertise with 10mbit and 100mbit back the port is going up again really weird stuff.
You will have to ask a search engine what the meaning is of the exact error message the xbox is giving you. Then you may have to show us your NAT configuration so we can tell you what you broke by changing default options which tend to work pretty well. [Of course, the problem could be a bug in the new fasttrack code.] The NAT rules are configured under "IP" "Firewall" on the "NAT" tab. Mostly you need to know what the xbox thinks is wrong before you change random options in the MikroTik. It may be that a device upstream from the MikroTik is the actual culprit for this error. You did not provide us enough information to make an educated guess.Next to this i got my console xbox(360/ONE) attached to 1Gbit port with auto negotiation,
however i don't get any connection through due to some strict NAT policy that is blocking the connection.
Now i've tried to find the policy for this in the menu of the web utility but couldn't find anything specifically usefull so decided to add a couple of accept rules in the firewall no success either unfortunately.
Guys I got 3 of those and I'm satisfied. That's a big word from me . USB connector design is "not the best looking one", but it's not disturbing at all. The one most disturbing issue is that blue LED is like a flashlight. Is there a way to turn it off or lower the intensity of that LED?
My router came with 128MB of RAM and 128MB of internal Flash memory. All 3 routers had some bad blocks even on first boot (0.2%), but there are enough free memory to test a simple metarouter.
Wireless performance is much better compared to RB750*.
Have you tried making a cross connection with another port, also with a different cable? If the port still doesn't come online that way, it's probably broken. Maybe because of a power surge or something like that from the other side?Port 8 suddenly stopped working. Light won't come on when you plug a device in. Not sure how to trouble shoot.

check your laptop wifi module specs, possibly it can't work faster by design. also check wireless config on RB, it should be 2GHz B/G/N or N only. channel width 20/40 MHz CE . also if advanced mode used - try to set default data rates and tx power for defaults. also check signal quality..Hello
I'm Mikrotik newbie and just bought RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN model.
Before purchased. My target is to use for load balance + Wifi N 300MB speed.
After connected wifi with my laptop. The signal showing as Wifi N but the speed only 54 Mbps.
Is there any body can confirmed. This model support or not support wifi speed up to 300 Mbps.
If not, I would looking for new AP to connect with.
If yes, Is there any body can share the configuration?
Thanks for your kind info.
this option mostly for mobile devices to enable power saving... i'm not sure will it drop performance or not, but if you don't use wifi on your mobile or use it rarely - maybe it'll be better to leave it disabledThanks for your kind info.
By follow your all suggestion. I can get speed up to 300 Mbps already. (The status of connection).
One more question. Disable/Enable "WMM" will improve or drop Wifi performance?
The default setting is "Disabled"
