i'm using the MikroTik 24v power supply, and this device was online for a little over a year continuously (380+ days) with no issues. i've owned it since 04-18-2011.
i tested the power supply itself with an RB951G, and that device powers up fine from that power supply, but the 493G won't come on at all.
i tested this morning with a standalone MikroTik PoE injector to try to power it that way, as well as by plugging it directly into an RB750UP that works fine to power other devices, and it still won't come on. i did notice this morning that when i plug in my 24v power supply to the PoE injector, the light comes on bright solid green, but as soon as i plug in a LAN cable from the PoE injector to the RB493G, the light gets dimmer and sort of.....pulses.....ever so slightly brighter, then dimmer, very quickly.
i have had it plugged into a CyberPower UPS for several years now (which is why the long uptime), so i highly doubt there was any kind of power spike that caused it to die...plus, i didn't notice any other power-related issues at the time it died, like dimming lights or anything.
i fear i already know the answer, but is my routerboard toast?
