SR card power settings

Sun Sep 24, 2006 11:22 pm

I haven't seen an answer on how we should set the power on the SR2, SR5, SR9 cards.
I don't use the SR2's. But heres what I get when I set the SR5 and SR9 to default.

SR5 max tx pwr 19
SR9 max tx pwr 26

Niether of these are correct for the max tx that they are capable of or rated at. Is this just a bad reading? driver issue? or should we set the cards manually?

Thanks,
Hydro

check the specs again... the 26dbm for the SR5 is only @ 24mbit or lower if I remember correctly, SR9 has a similar power / transmit rate scale...

For SR5 card, I have observed the similar reading.

~20 dBm for 54 Mbps. However, 'interface wireless monitor' shows only 13 dBm for 54 Mbps. Why is the difference?

When testing these I set them to transmit at no more than 24Mbps.
