I use the "network" element without any data (creates a small yellow cloud that you can use as "elbow" (if you mean this...)Still no elbows in links?
Lebowski, I would like to discuss using (partial) snmpwalks in functions.. as I am having severe CPU issues here."function() >=0" In version 4b3 the "Available" line is less forgiving.
If you take the probe that doesn't work and add one to the value that is being read the probe comes up but it will never appear down. I have solved this for my self by following gsandul's example of a function that returns "False" or a value and a probe with two if statements.
Function: if(array_size(oid_column("1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.57", 10 ,29)), oid("1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.57.0", 10, 29)+1 ,"False")
If the oid is available read the value and add one to it otherwise return false.
Probe: if(Cisco_CPU_a()<>"False",if(Cisco_CPU_a() -1< 70, "", concatenate("Warning: high CPU = ", Cisco_CPU_a(), "%")), "Cisco Device down")
If the value is not "False" subtract 1 from it make sure the value is less than 70 or complain about high CPU, If the value is False return "Cisco Device Down".
never mind that, it doesn not work
So the 2GB DB size limit hasn't been fixed in this release? Has anyone confirmed this and have Mikrotik acknowledged this bug? This is the only thing preventing us upgrading from 3.6.Hopefully they fix both the 2GB limit and the issue with IO affecting polling soon.
I also use dude on RouterOS to monitor my network with ~ 3000 devices and I can't perform an export Maybe Mikrotik support can give some piece of advice how to export Dude.I run dude on routeros. My backups are not working as of Version 4.0. Is there a work around to get the backup to work? I don't want to risk loosing all the data.
what do you mean by RB1000/RB1100 support?Could v4beta4 have support for the RB1000/RB1100 + Authenticated Email Support please? This is very important to us
I see, you meant the RouterOS npk package. Yes, currently there is a problem with it.i'd imagine so that the PPC version of The Dude will run on the RB1100
Not being able to back up is VERY MUCH something to worry about.Still nothing to worry about KEEP up the great work!
Is there any way to backup my graphs. I have many years worth of data in trouble now if something happens.I run dude on routeros. My backups are not working as of Version 4.0. Is there a work around to get the backup to work? I don't want to risk loosing all the data.
Any plan for this ?Note: v4beta3 PPC package is currently not working
When you get a network map that's "stuck" loading like that, create a second map. If the second map works, delete the first.
4)also tried delete device with service and as you can see still got - active outage !I see BIG Outage problems:
1)couldn't find remove selected outage button, this means can't delete several outage only all
2)couldn't find add note to outage !!! for later review of current outage
3)after restore several outage is not change state to resolved but service is working - how to remove outage to normal state - resolved ? tried - reboot , delete service and run again , the same problem... see picture - ????!!!!
Database size issue is something many of us have been waiting for Mikrotik to resolve. For now we have to restrict the usefulness of the Dude when it could have been so much morecan you help me repair database? or migrate to new one without data gathering but with all devices and settings !?
also data gathered saves only few records - how it is possible ? but for example saves new devices and etc...

Probably you have done copy of device with older version of Dude and some have the same ID. As lebowski suggest change all duplicate key using SQLite and then retry vacuum;Hi all!!! Sorry for my bad english.
Database has more than 2 GB, and apparently this caused a crash Dude.
We rolled back the database and want to do VACUUM. But we had the same problem as ottoshr.
We can not do VACUUM:Dude does not clear the "Failure". Please tell me how to do VACUUM, if you need it and how to fix a hanging logs "Failure"? I forgot to install ntp packet on previous state "all work" system. Did it, and RB951 began reboot. So this dude package damages the install manager? Don't uderstand.Good day!
I wrote above about router rebooting on rc12. So.
I have installed Dude4.0beta3 package on the device (rc11). Updating to rc12 brought to reboots. Router worked on rc11 before today.
Today I tried to upgrade to ROS6.0 release and the router began reboots again Next, router has netinstalled again for ROS6.0 - and all stayed ok! After this Dude4.0beta3 has installed and all work!
These all say that the dude package brought to reboots after upgrading a release, or the updating process goes wrongly=)
P.S. This post is also in rc12 thread, just in case.
Now I don't want install the dude because each upgrade of the system will occur rebooting...
Yeah, when is there a new (beta / final) release? When will there be a new version of The Dude?
One last please! PLEASE open source IT or let us pay for The Dude! HELL! HIRE ME TO DEVELOP IT, I know the product the best. I will sign a NDA, work for beans, and make everyone happy.Dude has not been updated for years, so I can't promise anything
all charts and graphs and polling results are stored in the ram, and saved periodically (can configure how often). when you restart the dude, it reads the previous status from the files, and then starts gathering new data, which it stores in RAM until it's time to save it. the more devices you have, the quicker this data grows in RAM.
+Please continue developing DUDE and we are willing to pay for it.
+1I discovered the Dude a few years ago (wanted a visual what's-up utility). This lead to looking at other Mikrotik products. I'm now at 60 routerboards and climbing...
I have The Dude on my windows 7 PC 64, and it was working fine but recently I found that when I use winbox from The Dude tools it is not showing me the Hide Passwords check mark option also when I try to maximize the window it come as blank area arround and wont let me see anything out of the original area opened by the winbox trough The Dude. But if I open anything directly from my exe winbox it work perfectly. If any one have a clue on this let me know.+1

Thanks in advance
I'm starting to think that all the developers of The Dude left the company... which could explain this complete stop in the dev;just another 10 people here willing pay $100 for Dude. Now I can't do without Dude. I Have been using The Dude for three years on daily basis and I am really affraid of database overflow. Please release source code or -better way- let us pay for Dude! We gonna be happy to spend money on this.

Mormis pode me ajudar na questão ?http://www.mikrotik.com/thedude.php*) fixed static object crash
*) changed icon
*) some minor fixes
wow that's way to much for the dude! these RMM products do patch management, av monitoring, integrated backup etc between 1 and 3/m for the most part. The dude is just a snmp monitor with a graphical representation.I've just been going through all the MSP RMM Platforms
Naverisk
N-Able
Kaseya
Centrastage
GFI
etc...
For a real simple real easy return, what about $1 per device per month. I have 200 devices on my Dude and for active development and bug fixing as well as a clear roadmap I'd be happy to pay per device.

NetXMS does all that and more. You can even build a custom dash or put dials and graphs for disk, cpu and traffic monitoring.there's nothing quite like the dude. it's limited in scope, but what it does, it does well. the map with lines representing bandwidth and link status is extremely useful for a micro-noc. I've used 'tik routers to build VPN clouds for business and put a small atom box with a big LCD and dude running in for this purpose.
I'm telling you, there are no Dude sources anymore. I can find no other reason for missing such a business opportunity.Or, let us at the code .. open source
Dude has not been removed. Just non-working RouterOS packagesAlso it has been removed from downloads http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=86094
3 and a half years =PGive it up people. This thread has been +1'ing for more dev on the Dude for well over a year, on top of all the other "please update" topics.
And MT's *ONLY* response is to some passing comment to say it is still available for download while managing to ignore every other post? Amazing.
and that's all?.. ))MT said at the latest US MUM that The Dude "is not dead".
AVE, Normis!! AVE, MikroTik!We have a plan to make a completely new dude, that would work with CAPsMAN and have better web interface. Project is still in planning stage.
So, in other words "don't hold your breath"We have a plan to make a completely new dude, that would work with CAPsMAN and have better web interface. Project is still in planning stage.
Dude doesn't use much for resources. No reason you couldn't run it in a virtual machine on one of your existing servers.while saving power by not having your standard desktops to be kept turned on for monitoring and mapping.
Routerboards use very little watts.
Me too. Sorry to say that. I remember a lot. I was at the first MUM ever. I remember The Dude announcement on MUM Praguje. I remember silence about Dude at tenth MUM in Prague. I have been using Dude till today, however, it seems to be inevitable leave Dude for me now. As I wrote here before, I would be even paying 200 USD for new version and probably I'm not allone in this. I will have to migrate to another system this year.
I have been monitoring the MikroTik Wiki and I have just noticed that The Dude change log page has just been updated by Krisjanis reverting the last update by Normis removing all the info related to the 4.0 beta and the info for 3.6. Could this mean something is going on?

Any updates on this?We have a plan to make a completely new dude, that would work with CAPsMAN and have better web interface. Project is still in planning stage.

You need to put it on Kickstarter. I'm sure this would be a good indicator of desire. We have a plan to make a completely new dude, that would work with CAPsMAN and have better web interface. Project is still in planning stage.
Yes. That's the problem. They don't need funds. They need the will. None can source the will from kickstarter .
If you add the 'ping' service on the device you want, then it will generate graphs based on the ping rtt on the History Tab of the device.Good day, Is there any way to generate ping graphs on the dude?
Dude packages for ros were retracted some time ago due to incompatibility with newer ros versions.
Dear cszolee79,Anyone checked The Dude 4b3 with newest ROS?
After upgrading from 6.32.3 to 6.33, the [Device.RosVersion] is missing in network map.
So I have a dozen of Tiks and no idea what version they are.
This makes me a very unhappy dude
Any idea how i can solve this?Dear cszolee79,Anyone checked The Dude 4b3 with newest ROS?

Open Dude settings, go to "Map" tab, open "Device Appearance" and in "Label" part change "ROS:[Device.RosVersion]" to
ROS:[oid("iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.mikrotik.mikrotikExperimentalModule.mtXRouterOs.mtxrLicense.mtxrLicVersion.0")]
Hello sagevorgyan,...
Dear cszolee79,Hello sagevorgyan,...
