Tue Oct 24, 2006 3:00 pm

Can anyone recommend me a good APC which forward mac addresses and work well with mikrotik?
I've mostly rb112 units with CM9 WISTRON cards.

the ONLY APC 2.4Ghz which I'm aware of forwarding mac addresses is linksys wap54 v2.08/openwrt built on it/. On 5.8 I think CA-804[in WDS] forwards as well.

actually, the RB112 is a good client, and the RB532 is a good AP. If you use 112 as an AP ... well you could use the same as client too.

as this is a mikrotik-only forum, I could tell you about a new (cheap) client device that we will start selling at the end of this year.

At least some specs? How many miniPCI slots? Memory? Price?

At the tone, it is now later. :)

That would be unwise in my opinion.

People (including me) do make decisions now for building future networks. When I do NOT know, what MikroTik will bring out, I (obviously) have to focus on other products.
Maybe I could wait for the product to be available, but if I don't even know WHAT will come, I will have to make a decision for something else...

Best regards,
Christian Meis

Cost effective, well priced, affordable, but never cheap!

hello all,

i did setup, like this for hotspot, dynamic ip, pppoe, and userman as centralized AAA, now running well:
|ISP
|
X86RouterOS
|
|
|AP-Bridge-Omni 15dbi >>>>> AP-Bridge RB511-Flat 19dbi >>>>> AP-Bridge RB511-Flat 19dbi
|
|++ on Omni for some stations in access-list and wds for next AP
|
|++ on second AP for some stations in access-list, wds for next AP and dhcp on ethernet
|
|++ on last AP for some stations in access-list and dhcp on ethernet
Just one question, what's better security for not my-AP will to connect to....?

Thanks for your time..
