CD image doesn't install

Tue Oct 24, 2006 8:11 pm

Ok I've burned a bunch of images and all do the same thing; the BIOS reports no operating system on the CD. Yet when I put in a known CD like SuSe linux install, it starts right up.

Looking at the CD under Windows shows an isolinux directory with a bunch of .nbk (?) in the root.

I must be missing something here, no?

Thanks,

Leon Zetekoff

I've seen this as well. Put the same CD into a different PC and it installed straight off. BIOS issue?

Regards

Andrew

the solution was to add in another CDROM drive and it worked. Possibly the type of disks I used was >650mb and this drive may have had issues with booting off it.

thanks leon

Leon

I must have been unlucky then with the 2 CD drives I put in my machine. Neither worked!

Regards

Andrew
