SOCKS proxy support

Tue Nov 16, 2004 5:16 pm

Hi!

Am I able to configure the MT to make users file transfers within ICQ/phone conversation in MSN possible?
Look a simple config. I have a public IP outside the MT's network. My MT has one public IP. I enabled the SOCKS proxy and made access to everywhere from everyone.

first
When I configured from outside my browser to use this proxy it worked perfectly.

second:
In my TotalCommander I added a new ftp connection and configured the public IP of the MT as the address of the SOCKS to use. then i configured an internal (10.7.0.1) host to connect. BUT the TotalCommander couldn't even connect to the SOCKS!! I expected that first totalcmd connects to the socks and then the socks tries to connect to the specified internal server because it sees the internal network. am I right?

third:
when an internal user set the MT as socks the MSN chat worked but file transfer wasn't possible..

what's the right config??

I've tried FTP Commander, Total Commander, and WS_FTP Pro.
I set every ftp to use my MikroTik SOCKS proxy. The first two didn't work, only the last worked.

Total commander said unknown error(90). What's this?? Is MT's proxy incompatilbe or full of bugs????

Any other experience?
