cannot manage switch

Mon Apr 25, 2016 4:30 pm

Hello,

I have a ccs that I'm trying to connect to by any means, the device is not directly accessible via ethernet. I've tried ssh / telnet / ftp (not that this would help), web, and the desktop app. Nothing seams to be working to get access to this device and it would appear as though it's not there. If not for the fact that the ccr above it sees and reports on the device. The last thing done was to disable all ip's on the device and set a manual address of 10.10.0.1/24 on port 11 and connect directly to my machine, with a manual ip of 10.10.0.2/24... this even was a no go. and the router above now shows this for the 'connection'

Any help or advice at this point would be stellar!

Have you tried mac telnet from neighbouring device? Have you tried winbox via mac address connection? If yes and no luck, make reset and try again.

thanks for the reply's.. there has to be a mechanism to allow this. I've tried mac telnet from the neighbour, resetting the switch and trying again, regular telnet, http, winbox, ssh etc.

How can you console into this device? or other such method, it's working as expected however I cannot manage the device which is a problem

What interface by default has the IP address assigned to it? ie. should the ip always reside on ether-1 or should it reside on the uplink? what's the best practice for this?
