Bonding - Balance RR - inequal speed

Sat Oct 28, 2006 3:18 am

I am experimenting with bonding and so far its working. I'm using 2 modems, one with 1mb upload, the other with 3mb upload. Is there any way to use bonding to get 4mb ? I am using balance rr mode and I can't get any faster than the slowest connection.

what kind of upload are you doing? what about using the load balencing method in the wiki..the GOOD NEW one that uses the new connection filter.

but that would only work for something that uses more than 1 connection (torrent, download manager, multi session ftp)

i use it to Load balence up and down, 2 lines of unequal speeds...works GREAT no incompatabilites..as i said the new connection filter is the key.

Hy, RR stands for Round Robin which means that packets are divided equally to ports.
That's why it allways goes with lower speed.

Try mode=broadcast in interface/bonding.

it will go over all links, but may get some additional speed.
