Hi guys
I need a recommendation for access points to cover a indoor basketball arena. The area is about 40m x 30m. Roof is 8m up. There is also a cafe next to the arena that should be covered and meetingrooms/wardrobes one floor up from the cafe. Outer walls and roof are steel (may reflect wireless signals). Floors are concrete. Inner walls are wood. We're planning on three networks/SSIDs: Technical (15 client devices including cameras for streaming to a server, high priority), players (40 devices, medium priority), audience (200 devices, low priority).

All tech devices can run on 5ghz and they need coverage everywhere. Audience should maybe have both 5ghz and 2,4ghz and their users will clump together on one side of the arena and in the cafe. Players need coverage on the opposite side of the audience and in the meetingrooms and wardrobes.

So what would be the recommended access points for this area, and how many is needed?

I suspect multiple ssids on same radio will cause capacity issues for tech and maybe also the players, so I'm thinking separate radio for each ssid. Is this a costly and pointless approach? Will that approach cause that we run out of frequencies even in the 5ghz band?

For the meeting rooms I'm thinking one Basebox5 with an R11e-5HacD card installed. Then the build in 5ghz radio can run the players network, and the extra card can run Tech. This AP will also cover the wardrobes.
For the cafe I'm thinking one Basebox2 and one Basebox5, both with an R11e-5HacD installed. Then the Basebox2 will will run the audience on 2ghz and 5ghz, and the Basebox5 will run Tech and players at 5ghz.
When it comes to the main area I have some major doubts. Will the basebox units wall mounted or roof mounted do the task, or am I better of using roof mounted units with directional antennas like the SXT Lite5 ac? Maybe basebox for tech and players, while SXT units for audience?
How many AP's will be needed to cover 200 along a 40m long wall with 2ghz and 5ghz?
How many AP's will be needed to cover 15 devices (including cameras) in a 40m x 30m area?

Does anyone have experience setting up wireless networks in a metal building for 2-300 users?

- 8-10 pieces of WAP AC, 2-3 on each wall
- use 20Mhz channels
- lower the signal output, so you can avoid overlapping frequencies
- use CAPSMAN

- steel / ferroconcrete => 1 wall is enough to destroy the signal. => 1 access point for each room.

Do you really think there's no need for roof mounted sector antennas (as the SXT series) in the large open area?
