Nexudus and Hotspot Configuration

Mon Oct 05, 2015 5:28 pm

My organization is running a cowork office and we are trying to use Nexudus Spaces to manage everything. For hardware, we using the routerboard rb1100ahx2 and and a UniFi UAP Pro Access Point. So far, I have all of the configuration for the Hotspot established, but I'm not sure where to go from there. How do I connect our physical AP to the routerboard and have it redirect our users to our hotspot to log-in/check in? Is there some basic steps that someone could walk me through? I'm very very new to MikroTik hardware and Nexudus. Thanks!

Hi Jordan,

Nexudus provides some documentation about how to set this up: http://help.spaces.nexudus.com/en/manag ... rotik.html. There step by step configuration there which you should follow to the letter to ensure the integration works.

They will ask you to download some files from your account. You can find these in Space Settings > Integrations > MikroTik. In that folder you will find some scripts which you will be asked to add to different places in the configuration of your MT box.

The usual and most basic network configuration is GATEWAY => MT => AP.

Your gateway would normally be connected to port #1 of the MT box. Then you can bridge one or more ports (#2 onwards) where you will connect your different access points.

The Hotpost server should be added to that bridge.

If configured correctly, the MT hotspot will redirect you to a log in page hosted in Nexudus. Members will type their username and password and they will be redirected back to your network.

I hope that helps you getting started.

Thank you yosoyadri!

I will certainly give it a try as soon as I am able! Probably this weekend.

I have followed all of the directions from the link you provided, it's just the steps afterwards that I'm having trouble with.
When you say "add the Hotspot to the Bridge", how exactly do I do that? I think that's exactly where I need help.

Here is what I have in my mind (very basic):

Ethernet port from our comcast modem===> (into port1 of the) MikroTik Router===>Access Point (into port2 of our router)

Do I need my admin PC connected via ethernet cable to the MT router while I'm doing this config in order to make the changes to the MT?

I have a basic idea of how to do it, just not very familiar with MT devices. Thanks again, I really really appreciate the help :)

I think I am close. Here is the redirect page I am seeing, but it's not the page it should be. Should blueburro.nexudus.spaces.com. I followed the Nexudus Miktrotik installation instructions closely. Can someone show me where I went wrong? Thanks!

I've been battling the same battle for the past few weeks. I might be able to help a bit. Have you been able to solve it?

I guess you did not copy file's from your main account. Login to your main account and go to setting and then go to integration and there you see Mikrotik and download files.
One's you download file to your desktop then copy these 3 file to your mikrotik rotuer. After this try to go to web site and you will see login page for your company.
