Quick Set Home AP: Wireless Guest and Home isolated?

Thu Jul 07, 2016 11:50 am

The Quick Set (v6.35 for MikroTik RB951G-2HND) enables fast set up for home and guest network, but I do not see two network list etc as described in links above. Is the guest network isolated from the home network when using Quick Set? And how?

There are manuals available how to set up a separate wireless home and guest network. It involves setting up two networks (e.g. 192.168.1.0/24 for home and 192.168.2.0 for guest) and more (setting up the DHCP, firewall rules, etc), see for example:
https://www.geleijn.nl/2014/guest-netwo ... ik-router/
http://blog.codexploit.si/2015/12/mikro ... wi-fi.html

However when using Quick Set I only see that in Brigde (tab Ports) that wlan2 (guest) is disabled. Is that enough to make sure guest and home networks are separated? Do not see two networks etc. as described in other manuals.

This question had been asked before (http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... +quick+set), unfortunately without any answer.

Excuse me, for the late response (didn't use notify when new replies are posted), but isn't forwarding mode for enabling or disabling communication between clients? I want to separate the guest network from own wifi network. What's the point of setting up a guest network in quick set up if it doesn't automatically separate these two networks?
