Are considered devices for SAT parabolas ???

Tue Aug 16, 2016 12:42 pm

Hi Mikrotik!
Why you do not produce very simple MIMO streamers for classic satelite dishs ??? They could be very cheap, easy mountable to any satellite dish, small for shipping and can save place on roofs ! I am mounting SXTs into such parabolas to save place and cover more directions on longer distances, but it is not ideal solution, due to need of hand-made holders and nonideal focus to point of SXTs ! Ideal would be units that fits direct into classical satellite holder in dish! Something shaped like: https://routerboard.com/RBGrooveG-52HPacn but streaming in ca 30° angle direction to dish, that can be choosed and bought by customer and is available in each satellite shop for low cost. Ideal solution for covering more directions at long distance is using multifocus dish: http://www.inter-sat.cz/maximum-parabol ... _d628.html At dish designed for 10-12GHz satellite band is gain at WiFi 5GHz band cca 6 dBi lower. I constructed special 5 GHz MIMO (dual polarity) Yagi antenna recalculated from american 1,8 GHz California TV system. My design is shorter, having only 7 director elements and wider beam about 35°, that covers dish ideally similar to satellite LNB. It´s total active length is about 15 cm and fits into standard dish holder 40 mm. I made it from standard copper/steel parts available in hobby shops and cover made from pipes designed for water management in bathroom. It works very well at long distances over 10 km, is comparable to Mikrotik Dynadish, but manufacturing it in amateur conditions is much time consuming! Need 2 cables for each feeder, R-SMA connectors, box for RB435 for 5 directions etc. Effect lost. If integrated into 1 part with only single G-LAN POE connection, it would be ideal. Your opinion?

It is a nice idea. Of course there will always be custom work because the typical sat dish is an offset dish
and the mount does not allow it to tilt down to 0 degrees elevation. So you need a make a new mount that
tilts further down or mounts the dish with the feed "sideways". Maybe it is not so interesting to release
a product that requires another product that is not directly available but needs to be manually re-worked.

Try to grab the lhg active part from the dish. But anyway 10km doesn't worth. You can easily use sxt or lhg for that...
