There is already config on it.

1) cable goes to power injector
2) injector plugs into your ISP modem.
3) wireless access point already enabled, you can connect with laptop to network "mikrotik" and use internet.

1. Done
2. Done.
3. I can see the SSiD in my iPhone, but dont know the password.

And how do we configure the AP ?
Like channels, password etc ?

There is no password for this network, if you did not set it.
To configure, connect from the laptop, not your phone, and enter http://192.168.88.1 in your Chrome or Firefox

All of this is written on the box too, by the way

Maybe that is not possible.
I bought four of these wAP ac devices. and none of the devices could be edit.
I have to reset them first.
Before the reset you could not find the device in WINBOX.

No, of course not. The default config allows you to configure it. It must be done from the WIFI connection, because the cable connection has firewall (should be connected to ISP modem port)

In my opinion it is not secure.
Configure the device must be done over the wire and nog wireless.
But ok that is a vision.
A AP must not be firewalled.

I have sent the AP back to the reseller the first time.
It was no documentation about this problem.
Than I figure out if I reset the AP I can see it with winbox and make a config.

Please try to understand what I am saying. The cable will connect to the internet. The internet is not secure. This is why the cable port is secured.

The wireless will operate inside your house. This is where you will connect and configure. The FIRST TIME YOU CONNECT you will set a password. It will become secure then.

Normen,

Internet is not secure, Right.
But this is an AP and not a firewall.
Normaly you connect aps to a switch and a switch to a firewall/router and that is connected to the internet.

Optional you can manage the AP by a capsman.

normaly the internal network is (secure).
Use NAT and use a firewall

No, this is not the kind of device you described. This device is a router with a wireless AP built in. This is not to be plugged into your LAN switch, at least without reconfiguring it from scratch.

Ok,
You are from Mikrotik, so you know it.

I think "wAP" stands for wireless AccessPoint.
In the default config it is managed by CapsMan.

I thought it is a device like in cisco you have a controller with wireless accesspoints.
The AP's are for the wireless signals and nog for routing and firewalling.
But ok if you say so.

No, wAP is not managed by CAPsMAN by default. That is an optional feature. Out of the box, cAP mode is off.
I know that some other brands use "access point" for some other type of products. In Mikrotik device world, we don't have non-routers with access point. All our devices are routers and default config is to connect them directly to the internet. This could be confusing if you are coming from other brand terminology.

That is because the software on all devices is the same but keep in mind that not all devices are made for routing and firewalling because of the internal power.
For good routing and firealling you need a CCR and not a wAP.

The CPU is good in the wAP, one of our best actually. It is capable of near Gigabit in routing config, see the table on the bottom here:

I do agree with Normis.
The model that you have is SOHO priced router with enterprise features.

You mean connect the ether cable directly from PC to WAP and open 192.168.1.1 ?
