The RouterOS download page only lists the "hap lite" product under smips architecture, and the new "hap ac lite" product isn't mentioned. Which architecture does it use?

Hmm, ok, so, how to explain the information in the site? Take a look on the pic. There is hAP for MIPSBE and hAP (Lite) for SMIPS. However, the last RouterOS I was using on my hAP was the MIPSBE (I checked as the same way above) and I updated to 6.37 and... crash. Did I miss something?

But if both names has "lite" , even what you said we can not read the diference on the download page, coz both has "hAP" or "hAP Lite". Which one should be the AC ? Plus, the problem remains: I just updated to new version following the instructions on my own hAP, it sayng 'mipsbe'. However, when it restarted, didn't work anymore. Any idea?

There is the hap, hap lite, hap ac, and hap ac lite. They're all for different models with different SoCs. But the hap lite is the only one that uses smips build.

iirc, they won't attempt an upgrade if you upload the wrong architecture. So in your case something went wrong, but hard to say what. Just netboot it and reinstall the software.
