Two Rb532a with same MAC??

Thu Dec 07, 2006 5:03 am

I think I have very bad luck, recently we buy two new rb532a and setup a ptp link one of them installed near another rb532a connected on the same switch on the same vlan, wirelessly everything works fine, but when ping the remote extreme we get no answer, after a few hours of investigation we indentificate the problem, and set another different mac address to one of the rb532a, then everything works perfectly.
Now the question is, If this is just only 1 in a billion or it´s going to happen again?

I got bit by configuring multiple RBs with an export. The MACs were cloned too. Otherwise, shouldn't happen...

Make sure you have not changed MAC-address by yourself. Anyway you can change address to another one using 'interface ethernet' submenu.

There is a command to reset the mac of eth. Doesn't work on wlan.
