1GB Connection, what hardware?

Tue Jun 06, 2017 2:22 am

Getting a new 1GB connection, and would like as much bandwidth as possible. Current RB2011 I already had, won't push much more than 300MB. Will the RB1100AHx2e be adequate, or go to a CCR? Thanks in advance!

What has your main router to do?
Only nat?
Or PPPoE or Hotspot or Firewall?

RB3011 should handle that just fine, or the RB1100/CCR1009 if you want to go full overkill.

I went with the RB1100AHx2 - quick question though. Plugged into connection directly, I'm getting download speeds in excess of 900Mbps, and through the Tik between 400-600Mbps. I have a very generic/plain config right now. Any ideas? I don't really care much, but the client his a Gig connection, and they think they need to see Gig speed, lol. Thanks

Fast track will probably push you to where you need to be.

What ports are you using?
Try WAN port 11 and LAN port 1. This will give two dedicated paths to the CPU.

I have WAN setup on port 11, and LAN on port 1. Still considerable slow speeds. Directly plugged into provider, close to 1GB, through Tik now after upgrading to 6.39.2 160-200Mbps. Thoughts/ideas?
