Hi,

update RouterOS first, then you can upgrade firmware in System -> Routerboard.

Regards
Bernd

Yes. Only unsupported devices so far are old RB1xx and RB5xx.

Does my router download fw from Mikrotik's server directly?

Upgrading RouterOS is done under System --> Packages. Like Windows, or OS X on your PC / Mac.

The firmware you are looking at under System --> RouterBoard is equivalent to the BIOS on your PC. That doesn't get updated so often.

After you update RouterOS under System --> Packages and reboot, it may or may not have a new RouterBoard firmware which you can then update under System --> RouterBoard and reboot again.
