Mapping static local IP to external dynamic IP

Sun Nov 19, 2017 7:08 pm

I need help mapping a fixed IP address to an external dynamic IP address.

I'm trying:
- Access Synology NAS from Samsung TV via internet connection
- The TV is on a local network and can only connect to a fixed IP address
- The NAS is on an external network, that has dynamic IP with dyndns configured.
- I'm using MicroTik RB750GR3 hEX router

How can I?
- Configure the router, so that the TV can access the NAS using a static local IP like 192.168.1.99?
- Any other method or suggestion is appreciated.

HI,
If you have a Mikrotiks on both sides easiest way is to configure EoIP tunnel.

If there is no other solution, then I will use microtik routers for both networks.

Both networks have dynamic IP with dyndns, that won't be a problem?

I just have tested it on one side ( latest rOs RC ) and it saves fqdn in remote address field. You should be good to go.
