Default configuration

Thu Aug 24, 2017 1:20 pm

Hi,

New to the world of Mikrotik - I have a RB750gr3 with me and I wanted to know how (or if it's possible) to do a few things:

Is it possible to replace the default configuration script - if so, how?

Is it possible to configure the reset button to reset the device so that if pressed, it will restore to customised script (the default configuration script if it can be overwritten as above).

You don't necessarily need to tell me step by step but if you can point me in the right direction, I'm willing to do some reading.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, is it possible to change default configuration.

You need to use netinstall Configure Script feature.

Hi,

Thanks for this. I've now managed to actually do this and can install a pre-made configuration via netinstall.

However, I have a different problem - I can actually reset the device (Hex Lite RB750gr3) via the reset button pinhole and it will wipe the configuration? From what I understand reading the wiki, the configuration I have loaded via netinstall should now be made default?

If anyone else knows how to fix this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you're right: the wiki specifies it:
Configure script RouterOS export file produced by the export command). Any file supplied here will become the default configuration of the reinstalled router.
