Database - import/export - error  [SOLVED]

Mon Feb 26, 2018 4:41 pm

SOLVED!

Hello !

Im running for long time The dude on CHR and i have no problems.
Current configuration:

Version: 6.41.2
CPU Count: 8
CPU Freq: 2600 Mhz
RAM: 8Gb
Virtual Disk1: 8Gb
Virtual Disk2: 50Gb

Both Disks are on same SSD

My dude db have 5.1GiB and i want to move it to larger disk
From Disk1 > Disk2

Problem Nr.1
I make a backup file
/dude export-db disk1/backup-db

but i cannot copy it from mikrotik and i get following:

RouterOS WinBox Error
Could not download file - cannot open source file (6)

Problem Nr.2
Then i try to import db from Disk1 to Disk2 i get following error:

1- If dude is active
Import is going until size of 1096.3 MiB
(importing: 21% complete)
after is showing status:
enabling back after import: open db: not an error

and dont do nothing after this.
Restart also is not helping

2- If dude is disabled
Import is going until size of 1096.3 MiB
(importing: 21% complete)
after is showing status:
import failed

Please help us to resolve this problems !
Thanks for help !

Sorry for my english!

SOLUTION:

Disable The Dude
Create Dude export file, and download if using some FTP service
Change the Dude path
Enable The Dude

Thanks to Pauls J. Mikrotik Support !

Hello my fellow RouterOS user.
I've bought CCR 1009 two years ago when it was still fresh and tempting with all it's features.
Since then I follow some bugish nightmare with it handling block storage devices.

Don' get me wrong - it serves well for routing, bridging, VLAN and other networking purposes.
But forget about auditing or reliable accounting. It's not going to work any time soon.

I tried to store Dude DB files on any kind of device :
- internal NAND flash
- additional triple checked Samsung Evo+ microSD XC UHS1 Class 64GB storage card
- additional double checked TDK 16 GB Pendrive
and all failed sooner or later.
So either Dude software has some major bug handling DB files which makes them corrupted or it's some hardware issue with serving external block devices.
Seeing your post today I'am nearly sure it's the former and it gives me little hope, but I gave up on Dude and will try other vendors auditing software.
Dude seems a good easygoing fellow but it becomes too nihilistic as it was the case with it's cinematographic counterpart.
And you will surely finish cursing more than guys did in the film if you follow Dude path.

Recognize that?
[admin@Xxxxxx] /dude> print
         enabled: no
  data-directory: SamsungSD/DUDE/
status: db failure: disk I/O error: stopped
Kind Regards
Jacek

Hello !
Do you have the problem ?
sep/19/2016 23:05:19 dude, critical queued 33615129 bytes for write to db. Please
consider faster storage otherwise out of memory condition or data loss can occur

Check the link, the only good solution is to run it on CHR.
