i have this scenario ,
MT1 (wirreless interface with hidden SSID)
Dlink (as Access Point Client when i scan from her i see only the mac of MT1 )
MT2 (as Access Point Clinet when i scan i see the SSID of MT1 Normaly )
i need to hide MT1 SSID for all Scan from any device
Please Advice
In windows usually you should activate the profile which has that specific ssid specified and it will connect to it. But it also depends on your wireless clients aplication.when you hide SSID people normaly wont see it ...
some software can see only the mac address (ex: netstumbler) can see the mac address of the AP that is transmiting the signal ..
so users can't actually connect to the mac address only ...
and as about d-link software on winxp .. it can also see the mac address of the access point .. but still can't connect .. i've tried it many times.
