Using Peltier devices with solar panels for chip cooling

Has anyone investigated using these devices to cool the processor rather than just a fan?

The peltier works - but is terrible inefficient. I believe You will burn 2 Watts on the peltier to each watt on the CPU. Why bother? Mikrotik's routerboards usually can take fairly high temperatures.
