Suppress DHCP Event in Log??

Mon Apr 23, 2018 2:03 am

LogSuppression.jpg
This is an old Apple router connected to our network causes this error every few seconds in our CCR logs.

I can't seem to find a way to suppress the error.

Is there a way to make some setting to tell it to not log this error and just ignore it foreever more?

I've already searched and looked for a way to fix this problem but there doesn't appear to be a way to fix it with this type of router issue.

I can always shut off the customer until they get rid of their stupid outdated Apple malfunctioning equipment, but that would be rude...

I'm ALMOST to that point though. Waiting for some expert here to save that customer's connection for me, lol!

You cannot exclude IP/MAC, you can only exclude topics.

So
/system logging
set 0 topics=info,!dhcp
set 0 topics=warning,!dhcp

But doing this will exclude any DHCP info/warning log from your log system.

Try this:
system logging set topics=info,!dhcp [find topics="info"]
system logging set topics=warning,!dhcp [find topics="warning"]

Apple has issues with short lease times. You should use a minimal of 6hrs for apple things.

It's a 24 hour lease, so that's not it.

I like my DHCP logs, so I'll have to think about it...
