Need Help on Route [or Rule]

Fri Feb 23, 2007 2:10 am

Dear guys,

I have setup a router using MT 2.9.27 with 4 ethernet as below :
- eth1 = ISP IP 2xx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- eth2 = client IP 192.168.10.x [I set multiple IP with different subnet such as 192.168.10.5/30, 192.168.10.13/30 etc], IP 192.168.240.254/24 [to AP IPs], IP 192.168.241.254/24 [to client radios]
- eth3 = client IP 172.168.17.x
- eth4 = dedicated monitoring for me IP 172.168.19.1/30

All default routes are created by MT automatically.
Top one have destination=0.0.0.0/0 gateway=2xx.xxx.xxx.xxx interface=eth1

I want to able to ping/browse from eth4 172.168.19.2 [my computer] to AP in eth2 192.168.240.x/24 and to client radios in eth2 192.168.241.x/24.

I'm trying various way from creating routing mark, routing rule [ip->route->rule] but none are working.

Anyone could help me please ?
I'm really dumb in routing

Simple,

Add dst Address=192.168.240.0/24 & 241.0 and Gateway is LAN Gatway

172.168.17.1

Try it out.

First of all I recommend you to upgrade router to the latest version,
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Upgrading_RouterOS

I think if correct gateway settings are used on Eth4 and Eth2, then communications between them, only you need to exclude this traffic from being masqueraded.
Route rules are not required in this case.

Thanks all for the reply.

Finally after read some other thread, I found that the APs could not be ping because I don't put gateway IP on every APs IP.
Now the problem solved...silly me :?

Thanks again.
